WHERE CREATIVITY MEETS COMPASSION
Shroud Artisan | Deathwalker | Founder of The Luv Co. and Luv Wraps
A lifelong creative practice
Creativity has been a constant thread throughout my life. My background spans costume design, doll artistry, sculpting, painting and mixed media, giving me a lifelong appreciation for textiles, artistic expression and the beauty of detail.
The meaning behind Luv Wraps
Through Luv Wraps, I bring together my creative experience, love of nature and deeply held values to create artisan shrouds for people and their beloved animal companions.
For me, this work is about much more than a final garment. It is about honouring a life, recognising the love shared and offering a meaningful expression of care at the end of life's journey.
Storytelling in fabric
Creating a shroud isn't just making something beautiful… it's storytelling in fabric. It's essence-catching. It's soul-dressing.
Every life has its own story
I believe every life has its own story, personality and essence, and that a final shroud can reflect something of the individual it embraces. It is an opportunity to bring together personal meaning, thoughtful design and the details that make each life unique.
Natural materials and soulful artistry
I have a deep connection with the natural world and am passionate about making thoughtful, earth-conscious choices.
I carefully select natural fabrics such as linen, calico and wool, appreciating their individual character and textures. Through botanical dyeing, felting, block printing, pigment painting and many hours of hand-stitching, I bring together natural materials and soulful artistry to create distinctive, individual designs.
Made with care
Attention to detail is at the heart of everything I create. From the selection of each fabric to the smallest finishing detail, every element is thoughtfully considered. These finer details give each shroud its own character, integrity and sense of meaning.
Returning to meaningful traditions
I believe there is something profoundly meaningful and healing about personally caring for and wrapping someone we love after death.
For generations, families tended to their loved ones at home, washing, dressing and wrapping them as a natural part of saying farewell. These intimate acts of care offered time, connection and the opportunity to be present in a deeply personal way.
I feel strongly about reconnecting with these traditions and bringing back the understanding that caring for our loved ones after death can be an important part of the grieving and healing journey.
A final wrap that feels like you
Every life is unique, and every shroud should have the opportunity to reflect that.
Whether you envision something as simple as a quiet whisper or bold enough to make the ancestors raise an eyebrow in admiration, I work with you to bring your ideas and wishes to life.
Through bespoke commissions, we can explore fabrics, colours, textures and personal details to create a final wrap that feels deeply, unmistakably YOU.
Think of it as your last garment … your final curtain call.
Walking alongside families
Alongside Luv Wraps, I am also a Deathwalker with Go With The Jo's, supporting individuals and families through end-of-life care.
This work has further strengthened my belief in the importance of choice, connection, compassion and meaningful farewells.
I am based in Te Puna, Tauranga, New Zealand, and welcome enquiries and bespoke commissions from throughout New Zealand and internationally.
